I painted this painting of my husband and his friend.  I just loved the water on the Foyle against the Curragh.  I found it interesting with my painting of the Curragh with the water hitting against the curragh.

My husband and his friend made this Curragh and then it was launched with all the Curragh's that were made. It was a huge event in Derry that day with all the curraghs lined up. The launch was in The Foyle Derry, Northern Ireland.

I decided to paint Amsterdam after my husband and I went to Amsterdam for our wedding anniversary.  This an unusual city the buildings are so different. Then you have the bicycles and I mean bicycles and more bicycles. The cobbled streets are hard to walk on and are so retro.

Beautiful painting of Amsterdam down by the canal. You will find bicycles and more bicycles. Also, the cobbled streets are interesting.

Amsterdam was founded as a fishing village around the thirteenth century.

Amsterdam developed around a dam in the Amstel river at the end of the 12th century. The name Amstelledamme occurs for the first time in the toll concession of Floris V, Count of Holland, dated October 27, 1275

This was when I visited Austraila. I headed out to the Great Ocean Road as I have been told about the 12 Apostles. I must say when I saw the amazing colours and landscape it too my breath away.

Painting this stunning painting of the Twelve Apostles. The water is so many colours of bright blue-green the landscape of the pillars is sharp along the shoreline. I had to get the correct pigment to get the colour close to the water. Like a Caribbean glow,

This is a beautiful oil painting of the 12 Apostles are a collection of limestone stacks off the shore of Port Campbell National Park, by the Great Ocean Road in Victoria Australia.

Their proximity to one another has made the site a popular tourist attraction. Seven of the original eight stacks remain standing at the Twelve Apostles viewpoint, after one collapsed in July 2005. Though the view from the promontory by the Twelve Apostles never included twelve stacks, additional stacks - not considered part of the Apostles group_ are located to the west within the national par

Rising out of the Southern Ocean, alongside Australia's famous Great Ocean Road, you'll find the 12 Apostles – limestone pillars that were once connected to the mainland cliffs. Waves and wind carved them into caves, then arches, and eventually battered them down into 45-metre (150-foot) tall columns. There are, in fact, only eight Apostles at the moment, but who knows when the next stretches of the cliff will become pillars

How to get there

It is a 4.5-hour scenic drive from Melbourne via Geelong along the  Great Ocean Road to the 12 Apostles. You can return to Melbourne on the 3.5-hour inland route along the Princes Highway.

Ramleton

Ramelton is a quaint town to paint. I love to paint these historic buildings. These buildings are interesting to paint. I love the way the water is right in front of these buildings which serves as a reminder of the town's industrial past.

Ramelton is a heritage town situated on the banks of the River Lennon. It is also the gateway to the beautiful Rosguill and Fanad Peninsula in Co Donegal, Ireland.

It is a fine example of well preserved Georgian buildings. After the plantation of Ulster it became the main port for the export of the Lennon and up until the 1960s boats loaded with cargo arrived weekly.

In the early 20th century there were seven churches here, hence it got the name the Holy City.

It is also the home of the well-known Football Special, the soft drink created by Mc Daid Brothers.

The White Shore

I just love to walk on the White Shore it is such a stunning beach. the waves each time I return are different, I love to capture these waves. Also known as Ballyherrian Bay but to locals is called White Shore. So many visitors walk this beach on another entrance you c the car park behind the  Eeel Burn caravan park. Many mobile camper vans you will see as you arrive. but only a few. In the summer it can be busy, but you can always get a great walk on the White Shore.

Another entrance is over at Diins Shore and Community center.

The White Shore is named for its beautiful white sand in Ballyhernan Fanad, Co Donegal Ireland. Situated on the Fanad peninsula to the west of Fanad Head. It is a haven for surfers all year round for its very high rolling waves washing on the shore.

As you walk from East to West there are great views of Tory Island. This is a stunning beach for long leisurely walks and swimming in the summer months.

Fanad Lighthouse

Oil painting of Fanad Lighthouse from Sea C.o.Donegal, Ireland.

This oil painting of Fanad Lighthouse was a treasure to paint. It is such a stunning white lighthouse when I was painting it.  I love the way the light stands proud with the Atlantic ocean behind. People have wonderful memories at Fanad Lighthouse.  Among these are proposals engagements, weddings. With the rugged coastline around it. I could see how it stands out. Love painting Fanad Lighthouse.

The reason I painted the Boardwalk is it is so different  a walkway from a normal path. You can take in a nature walk with all the flora and fauna along the walkway right to the beach with lovely sea views. The wooden design of the walkway makes it interesting to paint.

Walk the famous boardwalk Stroll, run or cycle along the stunning 1km boardwalk.

With circa 180 acres,  the Boardwalk offers great for walking with access to Trá Mór where some 3km of sandy beach stretches all the way to the local village of Downings. The walk from the holiday villas to the Inner Beach is ideal for a leisurely stroll with some fantastic views. Ards Forest Park and adjoining Capuchin Friary Grounds, just across the bay from the Inner Beach, offer an abundance of walking trails.

Rathmullan

Rathmullan is a beautiful seaside village on the west bank of Lough Swilly Co Donegal Ireland. It is a  busy wee tourist town in the summer months.  Many families go walking on the beach from the pier right up to Kinnigar beach. It is a lovely walk and you have beautiful trees on the left while walking along. Rathmullam beach looks right across to Buncrana with the Swilly in between.

In 1607 this is the port from which the Flight of the Earls sailed for mainland Europe. Rathmullan is one of the deepest safe anchorages in Europe and was used by the British Fleet during world wars.

During the summer the Ferry goes from Rathmullan to Buncrana and for landing fish during the Autumn.
